New "Cyclone" system recycles waste tailings into gold and building materials

A hydrocyclone system built by Eng. Roque R. Mallipot and Dodie Vargas now cleans our tailings pond, recovers leftover gold and turns the waste into bricks and concrete.

New "Cyclone" system recycles waste tailings into gold and building materials

Over the years, waste tailings built up at our site and began to overflow the tailings pond. Tailings can be hazardous to people, plants and animals, so our team spent years looking for a way to make them reusable.

Together with Engineer Roque R. Mallipot and Dodie Vargas, the association has built a system that reprocesses waste tailings with a hydrocyclone, a device that separates material by size and weight. The "Cyclone" system is now complete and running.

With it, we can clean the pond, recover the gold that is left in the tailings, and turn the remaining waste into bricks and concrete.
